When HarperCollins acquired the rights to publish IMPROBABLE by first-time author Adam Fawer, they knew they’d signed a talented young author with great commercial potential. Receiving good reviews from book critics, hardcover sales were modest.
With the paperback edition, due for release January 31, the publisher saw a new opportunity to refocus the book trade’s attention on their author by teaming up with National Graphics and their lenticular technology specialists to produce an eye-catching, high definition 3-D lenticular book cover.
After getting an advance look at the cover, major bookstore chains and independent store buyers responded enthusiastically by ordering more than four times the quantity originally projected. The author now has reached a significantly larger reader base, many who now cannot wait for his next hardcover release.
