File Layers Required - Adobe Photoshop

We Need Photoshop Layered Files

When a file isn’t layered, we will have to clone or “fake in” overlapping areas of the image that are revealed as the image is dimensionalized.
We will need to mask and clone an image if it wasn’t built in layers. This will add cost, and it may jeopardize a tight deadline.

Caution

We need each overlapping element to be on its own layer. When you supply us with a layered Photoshop file (not flattened as a background), it gives us the ultimate flexibility. This also gives you more control. We don’t have to guess, and “re-create” what was behind a partially-overlapped area of an image.

Special Builders Tip:

The artist that originally produced your file may have a layered file that they didn’t send to you. Often, as a final step, they flattened a copy of the file to send to you. They do this so that the file takes up less disk space. The artist usually keeps the layered file on hand, in case there are alterations or changes later (as they also prefer to work on “layered” files), sending us the unflattened “layered” file lets us spend more time on making the lenticular effects, and less time redoing (and billing you for) work that may have already been done.
